Ophthalmic Ultrasound

Ophthalmic Ultrasound consists of A scan and B scan. A scan is used to measure axial length of the eye ball which is fundamental requirement to calculate the power of intraocullar lens which is to be implanted in eye during cataract surgery. B scan is used to study lens, vitreous and retina in diseases like vitreous haemorrhage, retinal detachment, choroidal detachments and retinal tumours. B scan is also used to study the head of the optic nerve and retro bulbar tissues.
